minimalist house exterior design

the concept of designing a tree house came up with the idea of building something interesting and quite risky in a small and confined space of the house. we focused on thinking in something apart from trends, something different from the typical terrace. it was a good opportunity to place an isolated object that could playfully explore the relationships between interior and exterior. the way we understand and imagine the tree house is as a space generated from that inner child we all have.

it’s a place where you can have fun, where you can read or have your own little spot. a place where you can feel in touch with nature since it is not completely closed. there are no doors, the windows can stay open all night, thus creating a strong relationship with the surrounding context. a playful place, a place that awakes memories, a place that people can appropriate.

someone might say it is a reading room, a yoga room, a doll house. finally we have seen that it brings up different feelings to the people that come and visit the house. the interior space is made up of contrast through color and textures, while the exterior appearance, built in plywood, is more basic and rough like a typical tree house. we like to explore the game of contrasts

and play with the concept of the tree house as a spontaneous idea. the interior works as the recreation of anyone’s home. we like to think that everyone had this wish as a kid: to have a little house, a microcosm and play inside. there is a design house next to it, with its own living room, dining room, kitchen… tree house is all of that but inside a small capsule.
